ABOUT ME

I am an editor in the library and online information publishing industry and a former academic librarian. I received my MSLIS from Long Island University, New York and began my career as a reference librarian at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York. I later transitioned to become Editor in Chief of a library reference product with an industry publisher in New Jersey. Because of my background, I developed an avid interest in supporting education through digital information resources and technology. After several years of watching the rise of online learning in higher education, I noticed a trend in the online information industry: publishers and content providers began structuring educational platforms for their products. As a result, there is a high demand for instructional designers in this field. I decided to pursue a career change for that reason and enrolled in the MicroMaster’s Certificate Program in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. My background in academic librarianship and digital publishing should provide the foundation for a successful transition to elearning and instructional design.
